Leadership of Rev. Mother Emilia Mary

In 1981, Rev. Mother Emilia Mary was elected Superior General, dedicating herself to deepening the Congregation’s Charism. A Juniorate home was established in Pakkamudayanpet, Pondicherry, providing annual renewal courses to strengthen Junior sisters’ formation.

Approval of Revised Constitutions

In 1982, Pope John Paul II approved the revised Constitutions of the Congregation, marking a significant milestone in the spiritual and structural growth of FIHM.

Defining the Charism

Rev. Mother Emilia Mary led a comprehensive study of the Congregation's history and tradition, collaborating with experts to define its Charism as ‘In the Experience of God towards Liberation of Women.’ This Charism was then shared through meetings to help sisters embody its true meaning in their religious life and service.

Relocation of Founder’s Mortal Remains

In April 1989, the mortal remains of the Founder Father were respectfully relocated from the Cathedral Cemetery in Pondicherry to the Juniorate home in Pakkamudayanpet, symbolizing a deep connection to the Congregation’s roots.
